Abortion has been an area of
controversy since its inceptions; in today’s world few are scared to talk about
abortions more so few are scared to talk about Abortions Right’s with the case
of rape and incest. Some people believe that life begins at conception and that
aborting the unborn child at any stage or development is murder. While other
advocate say that women should have the right over their unborn child. As a
woman it’s our right to make the decision on what we should do with our unborn
under any circumstances; although we have options of adoption or going full
term and taking care of the responsibility.
I believe that women should have
the right over their unborn child whether in the case rape or incest; which in
the Abortion case I would be consider a Pro-Lifer person and not everybody may
agree or see why I believe in that especially if you are Pro-Choice to what I
am saying. Media has been part of the Abortion discrepancy for a while; seeing
that this morning I woke up to an Ad on TV about a Virginia General Attorney
named Ken Cuccinelli who is running for Government but a lot of people
especially women are upset because he is trying to close state’s abortion
providers; which will leave women in dangerous lengths to try to induce
abortion (Washington Post). Some Pro- Choice advocates claim that Pro-Lifer’s
position on rape and incest forces women to carry her baby against her own will.
Some advocates don’t realize that it’s a woman choice to carry her baby full
term and there is help from origination's such as Plan Parenthood and adoptions
agencies. “The profile advocate merely wants to prevent another innocent human
being (the unborn entity) from being the victim of a violent and morally
reprehensible act abortion” (Washington Post). For two wrongs do not make a
right.
“Pro-Choice”, advocating a woman’s
right to control her own body (especially her right to and induced abortion).
“Pro-life”, advocating full legal
protection of embryos and fetuses (especially opposing the legalization of
induced abortions).
I've heard the arguments. Women
should be allowed to be in control of their bodies. There are too many people
on the planet, sounds crazy right? There’s the chance the child will be
mistreated. It’s not a child until its breathing air to sustain life
independently. None of those are really valid. Women are allowed to be in
control of their bodies, they’re allowed to say NO to have intercourse without
being ready for the child that results. They’re allowed to choose who they do
and don’t take the steps to intimacy with. They are allowed to choose many
things but when a child is conceived that child has no choice in the matter. So
many women don’t even see that for what it is killing a child. To them it’s a
“thing” or a “creature” that is growing uninvited within them.
According to the Center for
Disease Control in 1993 1.3% of abortions were done after 22 weeks. That’s
roughly 20,000 children that were killed because it was inconvenient. Many
claim it was an accident but statistics show in 1973 20% of abortions were
repeat and by 1995 45% of all abortions were repeats. Nearly half showed
disregard for multiple lives. Statistically 63% are white, 33% black and 4%
other race(Center for Disease Control and Prevention).
There’s always cases pointed out of
women pregnant due to rape or incest and unfortunately that happens. Normally
not repeatedly (remember those statistics!) but even in those horrific
situations rape is not the fault of the child. The child doesn't deserve
condemnation and death for something they had nothing to do with. Killing the
child continues the violence of rape.
